Actor Nicholas Hoult To Star In Universal’s Monster, ‘Renfield’

Actor Nicholas Hoult will star in the latest Universal ‘Dark Universe’ film, Renfield. Chris Pratt’s The Tomorrow War director Chris McKay will direct this upcoming Universal another Monster project.

According to reports, Nicholas Hoult will play the lead role in the film. ‘Renfield’ will be based on the outline of an original story by Robert Kirkman. Renfield Plot

The story of the film will focus on Dracula’s henchman R.M. Renfield. Renfield was an inmate in an insane asylum in Bram Stoker’s original 1897 novel, believed to be suffering from delusions, but was actually the servant of the iconic vampire. More than this, nothing is known about the story of the film, for the time being the plot is kept secret.

Universal Studios is revamping the Dark Universe of its Monster Verse. Which started with the Elizabeth Moss starrer The Invisible Man. Or to say that the Dark Universe of Universal’s Monster Verse was on the verge of closure after 2017’s Tom Cruise-starrer The Mummy. But what kept this universe alive was 2019’s The Invisible Man, which was made on a budget of just $7 million and grossed over $143 million worldwide.

Since then, the studio has made smart moves, re-establishing the Dark Universe. In this context, the studio announced Wolfman starring Ryan Gosling, directed by Leigh Whannell, director of The Invisible Man. Obviously, Universal, like DC and Marve, has its own monster universe, the ‘Dark Universe’, which the viewer is not entirely familiar with. But now it seems that this Dark Universe of Universal is going in the right direction.
