Actress Gal Gadot says Imagine video was “In Poor Taste”

Wonder Woman star Gal Gadot’s Imagine video is once again in the news, which was created at the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic.

An interview to InStyle, the actress says that video was “in poor taste”. In the video, the actress along with other actors sang a line from John Lennon’s 1971 single Imagine. In the video she was accompanied by stars Amy Adams, Kristen Wiig, Jamie Dornan, James Marsden, Natalie Portman, Mark Ruffalo, Chris O’Dowd, singer Sia and Cara Delevingne among others. Where each of the celebrities was seen singing a line from John Lennon’s Imagine and the clip was later pieced together and shared by Gadot.

The video, shared by Gal Gadot on March 19, 2020, has garnered over 10 million views on Instagram so far.

The video was shared by the actress on her social media account Instagram, where it was heavily criticized. In such a situation, many people had said that when many people are upset in the atmosphere of Pandemic, and such stars are recording videos in their homes. Podcast host Joe Rogan even called the celebrities participating in the video ‘idiots’.

At the time, Belfast star Dornan defended Gal Gadot from critics, saying that, “she was trying to do a good deed”.

Gal Gadot says that ,”the video was premature from the view of understanding that you have of a situation only after it has happened.” She continues. “while I was watching where everything was going. It wasn’t the right time, and it wasn’t the right thing”.

She added, “At that time the intentions were noble, but sometimes you don’t hit the bullseye, do you? I thought I wanted to take the air out of it, so this was a good opportunity to do so.”

Gal Gadot’s recent release was Netflix’s Red Notice which also starred Dwayne Johnson and Ryan Reynolds. She is also working on ‘Wonder Woman 3’ with Director Patty Jenkins . But before that she will be seen in Kenneth Branagh’s Death on the Nile.
