The Chronicles of Narnia‘ Anna Popplewell and The Princess‘ Katelyn Rose Downey joins star cast of The Nun 2.
As ‘The Nun 2’ Starts Filming At France, process of joining the stars for the supernatural horror flick has begun. In this context, actresses Anna Popplewell and Katelyn Rose Downey have joined Taissa Farmiga, Bonnie Aarons and Storm Reid in the sequel to The Nun. The sequel is directed by Michael Chaves of The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It, this time instead of the original director Corin Hardy. Malignant‘s Akela Cooper has written the screenplay for the sequel to The Nun, while James Wan and Peter Safran are producing the film for Warner Bros and New Line Cinema. On the other hand, Gary Dauberman and Michael Clear are serving as executive producers.
The Nun 2 Plot
The Nun 2’s story details are not currently known but it is believed that the sequel will set in 1956 that follows Sister Irene as she once again comes face to face with the demonic force Nun, Valak. Taissa Farmiga is returning to reprise her role as Sister Irene. While, Bonnie Aarons is also returning to her role as Demon Nun. The Invisible Man‘s Storm Reid will also be seen in a key role in the horror flick.
According to Deadline, Anna Popplewell will play Kate, a school teacher at St. Mary’s School in France and a widowed. While Katelyn Rose Downey is expected to play Kate’s 10-year-old daughter, Sophie.
Anna Popplewell best known for playing Susan Pevensie in The Chronicles of Narnia film series based on the novels by C. S. Lewis. Also, British actress known for sci-fi series, Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn. Despite playing the lead role in 20th Century Fox’s fantasy adventure film series The Chronicles of Narnia, actress Popplewell’s career did not get the height it deserved. However, during this time the actress played some minor roles in films, like Freaky of Nature, The Last Birthday, The Gallery etc.
On the other hand, 13-year-old Irish actress Katelyn Rose Downey is also known for AMC’s crime thriller series, Clean Sweep apart from The Princess.
Release Date
The Nun 2 is schedule to release in theatres on September 8, 2023.
