Are viewers liking Matthew Vaughn’s The King’s Man?

‘The King’s Man’, a prequel to 20th Century Fox’s Kingsman franchise, has dropped in theaters. Is the audience liking this action-adventure flick?

The Kingman comics adaptation, created by Mark Miller and Dave Gibbons, debuted in 2015 with Kingsman: The Secret Service. The film series based on the comics follows Secret Service organizations. 20th Century Fox’s experiment with filmmaking comics with director Matthew Vaughn was very successful. The first film of the series did a business of $414.4 million at the box office with a budget of around $90 million. The first flick starred Taron Egerton, Colin Firth, Samuel L. Jackson, Mark Strong, and Sofia Boutella. In this context, the second installment of the franchise Kingsman: The Golden Circle also continued the success story. The second film in the franchise grossed $410 million at the box office from a budget of $104 million. Pedro Pascal and Julianne Moore appeared as villains in the second installment.

Later, the franchise announced a prequel The King’s Man which got delayed due to the Covid-19 crisis. The King’s Man has finally been released in theaters after due to countless delays. The prequel is directed by original director Matthew Vaughn. The main cast includes stars such as Gemma Arterton, Ralph Fiennes, Djimon Hounsou, Harris Dickinson.

The King’s Man Story

The story of The King’s Man is set in 1917 during World War 1, where a man must race against time to stop history’s worst tyrants and criminal masterminds as they unite to plot a war. Which can wipe out millions of people and destroy humanity. Obviously, The King’s Man will trace the origins of the Secret Service organization.

Now the question arises as to whether Matthew Vaughn’s prequel will be able to stand up to ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’, which is all-time the second-best opening at the domestic box office with $260 millions. The initial reviews are going against The King’s Man.

On the other hand, a section has also praised The King’s Man fiercely.

Warner Bros’ ‘The Matrix Resurrections has also been released on this weekend, which is being well received by the audience. In such a situation, there can be big problems for Kingsman franchise in upcoming days.
