‘Borat 2’ breakout actress, Maria Bakalova to star in drama-thriller, ‘Electra’, Hala Matar is directing the pic.
Bulgarian actress Maria Bakalova will star in the upcoming drama – thriller, Electra. The film will also star Abigail Cowen ( Netflix’s Fate: The Winx Saga ), Daryl Wein and Jack Farthing opposite the actress. Upcoming drama-thriller feature will be directed by Hala Matar. Electra will be the first debut film of Hala Matar’s career as a director. Presently the production of the film is going on in Italy.
The story of the upcoming thriller flick has been written by Hala Matar along with Daryl Wein and Paul Sado. In addition, Matar and Daryl are co-producing the film with Yale Entertainment’s Jordan Yale Levine, Jordan Beckerman and Ring Film’s Tomasso Bertani and Luca Cottafavi. Elsa Ramo, Nicholas Donnermeyer and Tiffany Boyle are serving as executive producers.
Electra Plot
Upcoming drama-thriller ‘Electra’ story will follow a journalist who travels to Rome to interview a famous musician, which turns for the trip to end in deceit, betrayal and murder. Daryl Wein will play the journalist, Dylan, Abigail Cowen will play journalist’s photographer and partner, Lucy and as well as Jack Farthing will play the famous musician, Milo. While Maria Bakalova is attached to play Francesca, a performance artist and Milo’s girlfriend, in the film.
Maria Bakalova was most recently seen in A24’s horror-comedy Bodies Bodies Bodies alongside Pete Davidson. Also, the actress was signed to play a key role in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3 in the month of June. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, directed by James Gunn, will be released in theaters on May 5, 2023. She will next seen in Amazon’s romantic-comedy, The Honeymoon. Later, she will next seen in drama feature, Fairyland and as well as in black-comedy, Triumph. Then, she will also featured in Jerry Seinfeld‘s comedy flick, Unfrosted: The Pop-Tart Story.
