Brednan Fraser Joins DC’s ‘Batgirl’ To Play Villain as Firefly.

Universal’s The Mummy trilogy star Brendan Fraser joins HBO Max and DC’s superhero film, ‘Batgirl’.

The recently concluded DC FanDome virtual event of Warner Bros was a huge success. Record number of fans watched the DC virtual event online. These figures were around 66 million, much higher than the first DC FanDome. At this virtual event Warner Bros. and DC released a concept art for the upcoming superhero film, Batgirl.

The title role in the film is played by Leslie Grace. Now it seems that HBO Max has quickly started work on the project. In this context, actor Brendan Fraser joins the original HBO Max film to play the villain, which will be inspired by Batman’s pyro-themed villain, Firefly. Adil El Arbi and Bilal Fallah of Bad Boys for Life will direct the film. The duo also working on Disney’s & Marvel’s tv series, ‘Ms. Marvel’ as directors and executive producers. Although they will only direct two episodes of the series. Margot Robbie‘s Birds of Prey‘ screenwriter Christina Hodson is writing the script of upcoming superhero feature.

‘Batgirl’ Plot

The story of the film will be based on the DC comic book character Batgirl, daughter of Jim Gordon, Barbara Gordon (Leslie Grace). J.K. Simmons is returning from Zack Snyder’s Justice League to play Gotham police commissioner Jim Gordon.

The story will follow the form of a female version of Batman. The story interferes with Barbara Gordon’s attempted kidnapping on Bruce Wayne by the villainous Killer Moth. Here are two villains, Firefly (Brendan Fraser), Killer Moth, Batgirl will fight for the first time as superhero. It will be confirmed who will play the character of Killer Moth in the coming days. Because as a superhero, according to the comic books, Batgirl faced Firefly and Killer Moth.

Release Date

Batgirl doesn’t have a set release date yet. But it could possibly premiere on HBO Max sometime in 2022.
