Takashi Doscher, who is best known for 2019′ Only, joins Chad Stahelski’s ‘Ghost Of Tsushima’ for Sony.
The development of ‘Ghost Of Tsushima’, an adaptation of Sony PlayStation’s most popular video, announced nearly a year ago, is accelerating. Takashi Doscher of 2019 sci-fi romance Only has joined Sony’s Ghost of Tsushima as a screenwriter.
Chad Stahelski of the John Wick series will direct the film for Sony and will also produce it under his 87Eleven Entertainment banner, along with Alex Young and Jason Spitz. Asad Qizilbash and Carter Swan will also produce the project from PlayStation Productions. Video game developer Sucker Punch Productions will serve as executive producers.
The story of ‘Ghost of Tsushima’ revolves around a samurai warrior Jin Sakai. Jin is the last samurai of his clan, who defends Tsushima Island during the Mongol invasion. That is why he overcomes all the traditions that are taught when he becomes a samurai. All these incidents happen on the Khotun khan Lands of Japan. Meanwhile, Jin learns a new fighting technique to recruit his allies and save Lord Shimura.
Remember that the video game was released by PlayStation on July 4, 2020. The magic of the game was such that it became the most talked about video game of that year. Ghost Of Tsushima video game was such a success that more than 2.4 million copies of the game were sold in just three days of release. Later, ‘Ghost Of Tsushima’ video game sold over 6.5 million copies. ‘Ghost of Tsushima’ was developed by Sucker Punch Productions and video game was published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. Last year, Ghost of Tsushima received nominations in several categories during the Game Awards. These categories are, game of the year, best game direction, best narrative and best performer for Daisuke Tsuji, who play the character Jin Sakai.
Obviously, Ghost Of Tsushima will be Sony’s second big video game adaptation coming. The studio has previously implemented the famous video game Uncharted with Spider-Man: No Way Home. fame Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg. Uncharted has become a huge hit for Sony. The film has done a business of around $373.1 million worldwide with a budget of $120 million.
In this context, HBO series ‘The Last Of Us’, another big project from PlayStation is in development. The Last of Us series stars Pedro Pascal in the lead role.
