There is no doubt that Marvel and Sony Pictures’ Spider-Man: No Way Home has proved to be the biggest of 2021. The film has so far done business of up to $1.694 billion at the box office. But does this superhero feature deserve an Oscar after becoming a major blockbuster? If answered simply, then ‘No’.

It is also worth noting that in the deserted theaters since last year, Dazzle has brought by Spider-Man: No Way Home. You say that Tom Holland’s superhero flick has once again taken the audience to the theaters. So did it deserve an Oscar ?,No.

I also wish Andrew Garfield got an Oscar but not for Spider-Man but for Tick, Tick… Boom!, in which the actor played his character so well. If we look back and analyze the story of Spider-Man: No Way Home, we’ll find that they had brought some cameos or the return of dead villains from the previous universe, what else? We don’t say the film was bad, it was good but it could have been better. So should Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire get an Oscar for bringing them back, not at all.

Some readers will agree with this opinion of mine and some will not. It’s not that I hate Marvel, they have given us a chance to celebrate a festival in the form of Spider-Man when the whole world is grappling with the Covid-19 crisis. We express our heartfelt gratitude to Marvel Studios for Spider-Man: No Way Home.

So, does Tom Holland’s ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ Deserve the Oscars?

Why ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ Deserve the Oscars?

There are so many reasons why Marvel’s Spider-Man: No Way Home won’t win an Oscar. A huge significant portion of the Academy Awards is also the hatred of superhero films. Spider-Man: No Way Home will not receive an award just as the Academy Awards’s viewership has been falling for some time now. But in this context, it was something else about Ryan Coogler’s Black Panther that made its mark at the Academy Awards. Black Panther was quite fresh in terms of content at that time. But now it’s almost impossible for ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ to be again without the late Chadwick Boseman in all those categories. So, Marvel Studios will never change the tone of its filmmaking for an Oscar.

The second biggest reason is that apart from Spider-Man: No Way Home, there are many other great films in 2021 like ‘The Lost Daughter’, The Power of the Dog, French Dispatch, Tick, Tick… Boom!, ‘Dune’, The Tragedy of Macbeth, and West Side Story etc. These are all the films that will get attention at the Academy Awards. Because the coming generation will get inspiration to do something new from these films. In such a situation, it is very difficult for Spider-Man: No Way Home to get an Oscar.
