Early reviews of Dune show critics sparring, for some it’s brilliant and for some, disappointment.
More recently, ‘Dune’ from Warner Bros’ and Legendary Pictures premiered at the Venice Film Festival. The upcoming sci-fi film is directed by Denis Villeneuve, who has previously directed movies like Sicario, Arrival, and Blade Runner 2049. The film featuring stars Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, Jason Momoa, Oscar Isaac, Dave Bautista, Stellan Skarsgård, Javier Bardem, Charlotte Rampling and Josh Brolin.
By the way, the film has about a month left for the film to be released worldwide. But Dune recently premiered at the Venice Film Festival. While early reviews for the film have also surfaced, the sci-fi film has received a mixed response. According to some it is a wonderful experience and according to some critics it is a huge disaster.

Dune Early Reviews
Variety
According to Owen Gleiberman of Variety, Dune is fantastic and entertaining. But it lags behind in terms of storytelling. Owen Gleiberman of Variety says that, “Viewed in that light, ‘Dune’ is a movie that earns five stars for world-building and about two-and-a-half for storytelling.”
Indiewire
According to Indiewire’s David Ehrlich, his experience watching Dune has been extremely frustrating. He says that ,”Director Denis Villeneuve’s awe-inspiring vision, he loses sight of why Frank Herbert’s seminal sci-fi opus deserves this epic spectacle. There are disadvantages to making a film so big that even its director can’t see it around the set. ”
IGN
According to IGN’s Scott Collura, the first half of the film is very good. According to him it is a technically brilliant, visually amazing film with over the top cast and deep science-fiction concepts. But according to Scott, it would have been defeated in its second half. The story of the second half of Dune has been dragged a lot.
Vanity Fair
Vanity Fair’s Richard Lawson is also disappointed with Dune. He had hoped that the new film would give a chance to re-set ‘Dune’, the much-maligned, earlier film adaptation. According to him it was not so.
Empire
Ben Travis of Empire writes that it is “an absorbing, awe-inspiring adaptation of (half) of Frank Herbert’s novel that will impress existing acolytes, and introduce newcomers to its spice-fueled visuals. If Part Two Never Was.” If it does, it would be a ridicule.”
The Los Angeles Times
Justin Chang of The Los Angeles Times has lauded the film. He said that, “”As long as the film comes to a sudden, unsatisfying halt between the events of Herbert’s novel, this particular Game of Thrones is a delight to watch, though perhaps more joy than depth or meaning.”

EW
Leah Greenblatt of Entertainment Weekly has heaped praise on Denis Villeneuve’s Dune. He said that, “The sheer weirdness of Villeneuve’s execution—there may never be another film this year or ever, which turns a character into a kind of walled-up psychedelic performance art for a glass of water—is often overshadowed by this fact. obscures that the plot is mostly prologue: a massive origin story with no definite beginning or end.”
The Independent
The Independent’s Clarisse Loughrey also praised Warner Bros’ sci-fi film Dune. She said that, “Villeneuve’s ‘Dune’ is the sandworm popping out of the darkness below. It’s a film of such literal and emotional enormity that it blows the senses. If all goes well, it should revive the book’s legacy in the same way Just as Peter Jackson’s ‘Lord of the Rings’ trilogy did for the work of JRR Tolkien.”
Along with this, Dune is getting a lot of positive response on social media.
Dune Release Date
Dune film was earlier scheduled to release on October 1, but will now release on the same day on October 22 as theaters as well as on HBO Max.
