Elliot Page, Formerly Known As Ellen Page, Comes Out As Transgender

A landmark move from the Hollywood actor, the artist formerly known as Ellen Page to supporters in the trans community to “finally love what I know enough to pursue my authentic self.

“Juno” Oscar nominee and Umbrella Academy star Ellen Page has emerged as a transgender today, presenting himself as Elliot Page on Tuesday in social media posts. The actor is happy to share this news. He confirmed this with his social media account Instagram. But also expressed concern about transgender community.

He stated through his post that, according to the Human Rights Campaign, 2020 has been the deadliest year on record for trans and gender-non-performing people, with at least 40 known fatal violence victims so far. He further wrote, “I consider the pain of all trans people, who are victims of hatred, abuse and violence, every day. Along with this, I conveyed that I will keep trying to make the world better for you”.

Elliot Page’s move was praised by many Hollywood heavyweight and LGBTQ advocacy groups and talked about standing with them.

“Elliott Page has given us great characters on-screen, and has been a vocal advocate for all LGBTQ people,” GLAAD director of transgender media Nick Adams said in an email. “She will now be an inspiration to countless trans and non-binary people. Then, he also appeared together with actor Leonardo DiCaprio in the 2010 science fiction “Inception” and the 2012 Wood Allen comedy “To Rome with Love.
