‘Emancipation’ Trailer: Will Smith Will Once Again Stake Claim For Oscar.

Apple unveils first teaser trailer for Will Smith starrer, Emancipation, directed by Antoine Fuqua.

And now Apple has surprised by suddenly dropping the teaser trailer of Emancipation. Will Smith’s ‘Emancipation’ releases was postponed indefinitely at Apple after the infamous slap at the last Oscars. But now everything seems to be going well with the Antoine Fuqua-directed thriller flick and actor Will Smith. Earlier, film gets its first screening in Washington D.C., where it was widely received.

Will Smith makes a strong return in the Antoine Fuqua-directed thriller that establishes him as a strong contender for a second consecutive Oscar. The trailer is very intense which clearly depicts the torture done on Peter who escaped from the clutches of slavery.

Apparently, the Oscars event was nothing less than a nightmare for actor Smith when the actor publicly slapped standup-comedian Chris Rock right before taking home the biggest award of the evening for King Richards. In this context, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Science banned the actor for 10 years from appearing at the Oscars. Smith then released an apology video to Chris Rock on social media to set things right and manage his faltering career. Apart from Will Smith. upcoming drama thriller also featuring stars Ben Foster, Steven Ogg, Mustafa Shakir, Charmaine Bingwa, Imani Pullum and Gilbert Owuor with among others.

Emancipation starring Will Smith raises the issue of slavery. Based on true events, film will follow a slave named Peter, who is almost put to death. Seeking to reunite with his family, he escapes cold-blooded hunters from a Louisiana plantation and heads north, where he joins the Union Army. Photographs of his bare back, badly severed by an overseer’s whip, were published around the world in 1863, giving the abolitionist movement a testimony to the brutality of American slavery.

In addition to directing, Antoine Fuqua has also served as an executive producer for the film. William N. Collage wrote the screenplay. Will Smith and Jon Mone has produce the film through Westbrook Studios with Joey McFarland through McFarland Entertainment and Todd Black through Escape Artists. Cliff Roberts, Heather Washington, Chris Brigham, James Lassiter, Glen Basner and Scott Greenberg are serving as executive producers.

Emancipation Release Date

Apple’s Emancipation is schedule to release in theatres on December 2, 2022. Later, film will available for streaming on Apple+ from December 9, 2022.
