Game of Thrones’ prequel House of the Dragon has made its debut on HBO with a bang. Game Of Thrones’ prequel received record-breaking viewership on HBO from all over the world. The way House Of The Dragon debuted on HBO, it’s alarm bells for other shows. It is not even a week since it premiered that the show has garnered a record-breaking 20 million viewership. Now that the finale is far away, seeing the success of the show, the makers have announced Season 2 on HBO.

Francesca Orsi, Head and EVP of HBO’s Drama Series, says that, “We’re beyond proud of what the entire House Of The Dragon team has accomplished with season one. Our phenomenal cast and crew undertook a massive challenge and exceeded all expectations, delivering a show that has already established itself as must-see-TV.”

She continuous, “A huge thank you to George R. R. Martin, Ryan Condal, and Miguel Sapochnik for leading us on this journey. We couldn’t be more excited to continue bringing to life the epic saga of House Targaryen with season 2.”

Based on the novel Fire & Blood by George R. R. Martin, House Of The Dragon not only completes the original Game of Thrones but also manages to keep the excitement going. From the very first episode, the stage has been set for the upcoming thriller which is rife with deceit, politics, greed and big bloodshed.

Set 172 years before the events of ‘Game Of Thrones’ Prequel, House Of The Dragon will illuminate the rise and fall of the House of Targaryen. Having lost his wife and newborn son, King Viserys has become an enemy of Brother Daemon by choosing Targaryen’s daughter Rhaenyra as heir to the Iron Throne.

Ser Otto Hightower’s daughter Lady Alicent, on the other hand, also appears to have grown closer to King Viserys, which appears to be a mere conspiracy.

House Of The Dragon show featuring stars Paddy Considine, Matt Smith, Olivia Cooke, Emma D’Arcy, Steve Toussaint, Eve Best, Fabien Frankel, Sonoya Mizuno, and Rhys Ifans.
