Illumination’s upcoming animated comedy feature, ‘Migration’ got delayed at Universal.
Universal Studios has rescheduled the release date for Illumination’s animated comedy feature, Migration. Of course, initially Universal’s Illumination comedy feature, Migration was to be released against Disney’s Harrison Ford Starrer ‘Indiana Jones 5’. But now the studio has delayed the release of the film by 6 months.
Now Universal’s Illumination comedy feature Migration will clash with Disney’s Star Wars: Rogue Squadron and Paramount’s Star Trek untitled sequel. ‘Wonder Woman’ Film’s Director Patty Jenkins Is Directing New Star Wars: Rouge Squadron for Disney and Lucasfilm. Marvel’s WandaVision director Matt Shakman is directing Star Trek 4 for Paramount.
Plot
Universal Illumination’s animated comedy feature, Migration is about a family of ducks who convince their over-protective father to go on the vacation of a lifetime as they attempt to migrate from New England, through New York City, and ultimately down to the Bahamas.
Although the stars currently voicing the characters in Illumination’s Migration animated feature are yet to be confirmed. Oscar nominee, Benjamin Renner, best known for 2012′ family comedy feature, Ernest & Celestine, is directing animated pic for Universal. Mike White, who is best known for School of Rock and The White Lotus has wrote screenplay. Illumination’s founder Chris Meledandri is producing the pic.
Universal’s recent release Jurassic World Dominion and The Black Phone have been doing well at the box office. Chris Pratt starrer Jurassic World Dominion has so far raked in $752 million at the box office in just 18 days of release. On the other hand, The Black Phone, made in just $20 million, has done a business of about $40 million in 4 days of release.
Migration New Release Date
Animated comedy pic was initially scheduled for a June 30, 2023 release. But now, Universal’s Illumination comedy feature Migration will release on December 22, 2023.
