Euphoria actor Jacob Elordi will portray the legendary Elvis Presley in Sofia Coppola’s ‘Priscilla‘.
After Austin Butler, Actor Jacob Elordi will be seen portraying the legendary Elvis Presley on the big screen in ‘Priscilla‘ for A24. Upcoming project will be based on Priscilla Beaulieu Presley’s memoir, Elvis and Me, which was published in 1985. Sofia Coppola will direct the film as well as adapt the script. Pacific Rim Uprising actress Cailee Spaeny is attached to portray the title character in the film. Sofia Coppola will also produce the film with Lorenzo Mieli of The Apartment and American Zoetrope Production Company. The Apartment, a Fremantle Company and Sony’s Stage 6 Films will finance the pic.
The upcoming flick will shed light on Elvis and Priscilla’s relationship. Apparently, both of them got married in 1967. Both the marital relationship lasted very little. They had one child, Lisa Marie Presley. They divorced in 1973, four years after Elvis died in 1977. Production for the film is set to begins this fall in Toronto.
Sofia Coppola’s “Priscilla” is undoubtedly going to be the big film of Jacob Elordi’s career, although the actor has also played a lead role in Netflix’s romantic comedy The Kissing Booth trilogy. Also the actor got international recognition with HBO’s drama series, ‘Euphoria’, he plays lead role alongside Zendaya and Sydney Sweeney. He recently seen opposite Ben Affleck and Ana de Armas in erotic psychological thriller, Deep Water. He will next seen opposite Rosamund Pike and Barry Keoghan in Amazon’s Saltburn. Then, he will next seen in Action Thriller ‘Parallel’ From Legendary Entertainment.
Cailee Spaeny previously seen in Netflix’s comedy drama, How It Ends. She will next seen in action thriller, Civil War.
Warner Bros’ Elvis, based on the life of the previous Elvis Presley, was well-liked by the audience. The film did a business of about $285 million at the box office even with a budget of $85 million.
