Jason Clarke Joins Christopher Nolan’s ‘Oppenheimer’ For Universal

Jason Clarke ,best known for Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes joins Christopher Nolan’s WWII drama feature, Oppenheimer.

Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer is getting bigger by the day. His upcoming project also stars Cillian Murphy, Emily Blunt, Kenneth Branagh, Matt Damon, Robert Downey Jr., Florence Pugh, Rami Malek, Josh Hartnett, Benny Safdie, Dan DeHaan and Jack Quaid. In this context, Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes star Jason Clarke has entered Christopher Nolan’s next World War II drama thriller Oppenheimer.

Cillian Murphy is playing the title role as J. Robert Oppenheimer, the scientist who ran the Manhattan Project that led to invention of atomic bomb during World War II. On the other hand, Emily Blunt will be playing the role of Katherine Oppenheimer, the wife of Cillian Murphy. It is not currently known what role Jason Clarke will play in the film. The production work for the film is currently underway. Shooting for the film will take place in New Mexico, California and New Jersey.

Christopher Nolan’s next epic biographical thriller is best on Kai Bird and Martin J. Sherwin’s Pulitzer Prize winning book American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J. Robert Oppenheimer. Christopher Nolan has written the screenplay along with directing the film as well as also producing with Emma Thomas and Atlas Entertainment’s Charles Roven.

Release Date

Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer will be released about two weeks before the anniversary of the bombing of Hiroshima. Universal’s Oppenheimer is set to hit theaters on July 21, 2023.

Jason Clarke’s previous release was Silk Road which released on February 19, 2021. Prior to this, he played the lead in the 2019′ Paramount’s Pet Sematary based on Stephen King’s novel. Apart from Oppenheimer, Jason Clarke next seen in Sophia Banks’ action-thriller, ‘Black Site’. He will also appear in HBO’s dark comedy series Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty. The TV series will release as a weekly episode, with the first episode premiering on HBO this March 6, 2022.
