The Continental, a prequel series from the John Wick universe that was originally supposed to premiere on Starz, is now coming to Peacock. The three-episode limited TV series The Continental is slated to drop on streaming platform Peacock ahead of the release of Keanu Reeves’ John Wick: Chapter 4 to give viewers a better understanding of the universe.

It’s also worth noting, however, that The Continental Series was announced for Lionsgate’s cable network Starz in early 2018 about four years ago today. The official reason for the series’ move from Starz to Peacock is still unclear. It is also worth noting that Peacock has the rights to stream all the three films released so far in the John Wick franchise. In such a situation, perhaps in future all the projects related to John Wick Universe can be seen only on Peacock.

The Continental Plot

Continental series story will follow Young Winston Scott ( Colin Woodell ), who currently owns the New York Continental Hotel as per on going film series. The story of the series is set in the 1970s, where Winston is dragged into a New York hell-scape to confront his past. The story will shed light on the events of how Winston established his authority over the Continental Hotel in New York, which later became a den for criminals. Ian McShane has portrays the character of Winston Scott in the film series.

In addition to Colin Woodell, The Continental Series stars Ayomide Adegun as Young Charon, Peter Greene as Uncle Charlie, Ben Robson as Frankie, Hubert Point-Du Jour as Miles, Jessica Allain as Lou, Mishel Prada as KD and Nhung Kate as Yen. Mel Gibson will be seen as Cormac in the series.

Whether Keanu Reeves will be seen in the series or not, it is not known yet. Greg Coolidge and Kirk Ward are serving as executive producers as well as writers of the series. Basil Iwanyk of Thunder Road Pictures, Erica Lee, Chad Stahelski, Kolstad, David Leitch, Shawn Simmons, Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese are also serving as executive producers.

Release Date

‘The Continental Series could fall on Peacock in early 2023. On the other hand, Keanu Reeves’ John Wick: Chapter 4 is scheduled to release in theatres on March 24, 2023.
