If all goes well, Keanu Reeves could appear as John Wick opposite Ana de Armas in the franchise’s spinoff, Ballerina.
Lionsgate ‘s action franchise has three projects currently in development , Keanu Reeves starrer John Wick Film Series, The Continental limited TV series and spinoff Ballerina . But now the studio wants to cast Keanu Reeves as John Wick in the franchise’s spinoff Ballerina as well. Talks are on with the actor to reprise the role. Apparently, actor Ian McShane from the original John Wick film series has already been cast as the Winston spinoff, Ballerina. In such a situation, the chances of Reeves returning increase.
The story of Spinoff Ballerina will follow Ana de Armas‘ a young female assassin who seeks revenge against the people who killed her family. Maybe in this case, along with Winston, John Wick will also support her.
Len Wiseman, who is best known for directing Kate Beckinsale starrer Underworld film series is directing the project for Lionsgate. Shay Hatten of Army of the Dead has written the screenplay. 87’North Productions’ Basil Iwanyk, Erica Lee and Chad Stahelski are producing the pic. While, Brady Fujikawa and Chelsea Kujawa are overseeing the project for Lionsgate Studio.
It is evident that actor Keanu Reeves has proved himself well in recent years, thanks to his leadership, the John Wick franchise has garnered huge audiences film after film from across the globe. Sensing the popularity of the actor, Warner Bros. has recently announced a sequel to Constantine after 17 years with him, which will be directed by original director Francis Lawrence. He previously seen in Warner Bros’ animated feature, DC League of Super-Pets, where actor voiced Bruce Wayne aka Batman. He will next seen in John Wick: Chapter 4, which’ First Trailer Unveiled at San Diego Comic-Con. Film is schedule to release in theatres on March 24, 2023.
