The 2019 Knives Out film has been a huge hit. Now Netflix has signed a 450 million deal for the next two parts of the film. Daniel Craig and director Rian Johnson are returning for Knives Out 2 and 3. Netflix declined to say anything, they have not commented on the deal. The sequel to the film was already confirmed, but now it will be made under Netflix.
According to Variety, this deal has been done for 450 million, on the other hand, according to Deadline, Netflix is talking about a 400 million deal for the upcoming 2 sequels. However, MRC and Lionsgate had the rights to the original film Knives Out. But now Netflix has taken the rights to the film for upcoming sequels.
Remember, 2019’s Knives Out was a big hit on the box. The film grossed $311.4 million dollars at the worldwide box office with a budget of $40 million. The 2019 Knives Out film starred Daniel Craig alongside actors such as Chris Evans, Jamie Lee Curtis, Christopher Plummer, Tony Collette and Ana de Armus. No cast other than Daniel Craig has yet been confirmed for the sequel to Knives Out.
However, nothing is known about the story of the sequel to the Knives Out film. But once again in this mystery thriller, Daniel Craig will be seen in the role of Detective Benoit Blanc with director Rian Johnson from original film , Knives Out. Rian Johnson is also producing Knives Out’s sequel with Ram Bergman under their T-Street banner. Rian Johnson got an Oscar nomination for best original screenplay for Knives Out film.
The release date for the sequel to the movie Knives Out is yet to be folded. Shooting of the first sequel will begin in Greece this summer. We can see the first sequel of Knives Out by the end of 2022.
