Marvel Studios is currently unclear about its content, with the recent release Thor: Love and Thunder being an example.
There is no doubt that Marvel is the most successful franchise in the world. But the last few releases have not been anything special. Taika Waititi‘s latest release Thor: Love and Thunder shows that Marvel needs to change its filmmaking style. Because Marvel is constantly serving the same type of content. Although Sam Raimi’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness comes with unique content.
Obviously, every Marvel movie comes with a simple story, except Tom Holland’s ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ after Avengers Endgame. Obviously, the recent release Thor: Love and Thunder has also failed to impress. Reasons are many, every time you can’t live by comedy. Jokes on tense moment too, really! In the film, Chris Hemsworth‘s God of Thunder is made God of Jokes, the story is simple yet predictable. Powerful characters like Thor have been ruined in the film. It seems childish to present him like this in the film. Although there’s a big positive in Thor: Love and Thunder, Christian Bale’s Villain Gorr The God Butcher. But it kicks in here too, in Thor’s first encounter with Gorr everything happens so quickly that we don’t understand and it slips away. It would not be wrong to say that Thor: Love and Thunder is a comedy and not a superhero pic.
Marvel now needs to rethink what DC is doing with its content. Because you can’t rely on the ordinary story every time. Also, character needs to embody his true nature of comics books as Amazon is doing with The Boys. It’s right time that Marvel should realize that “Comedy” is not the solution for every times. Use the comedy side only where it’s needed, like James Gunn does, like Guardians Of The Galaxy and Peacemaker. Studio needs to do something different like Sam Raimi’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Because audiences do not like the same type of content for a long time. Also, one of the major drawbacks of Thor: Love and Thunder is that its trailers and TV spots tell the story of the film. So in future the studio will have to pay attention to these things.
