Netflix has signed a deal with Entertainment One for the rights to Maggie Gyllenhaal’s directorial debut feature ,The Lost Daughter.
Netflix has tied up a deal with Entertainment One for Germany, UK and Benelux rights. Although earlier the rights were bought by Entertainment One from Endeavor Content.

Maggie Gyllenhaal is best known for Christopher Nolan‘s The Dark Night and the Conjuring film series. Now the actress has made her directorial debut with The Lost Daughter, which premiered at the Venice Film Festival this year in the month of September. Maggie has received a lot of praise from critics for her debut project, where the film won the award for Best Screenplay. Apart from direction, Maggie Gyllenhaal has also produce the film with Pie Films’ Talia Kleinhendler and Osnat Handelsman-Keren, Samuel Marshall Films’ Charles Dorfman and Endeavor Content.

The Lost Daughter Film’s Plot
Maggie Gyllenhaal’s The Lost Daughter stars Olivia Colman, Jessie Buckley, Dakota Johnson, Peter Sarsgaard, Paul Mescal, Oliver Jackson-Cohen and Ed Harris. Maggie Gyllenhaal’s The Lost Daughter is based on the best-selling novel by Elena Ferrante with same name.
The story of The Lost Daughter follows a woman who goes on a vacation to the beach. Things suddenly start to deteriorate. He soon finds himself obsessed with another woman and her daughter, prompting him to come back and uncover memories of his own early motherhood.
Release Date
The Lost Daughter is schedule to premiere on Netflix by the end year on December 31, 2021.
