Peter Dager joins Patrick Wilson in supernatural horror, Insidious 5 for Screen Gems and Stage 6 Films.
Work on the next installment of the horror franchise Insidious, starring Patrick Wilson and Rose Byrne, has begun in full swing. In this context, Peter Dager has joined the star cast of Insidious 5. However, the official title of the fifth installment is yet to be announced. Patrick Wilson making his directorial debut, Insidious 5 will mark his directorial debut. Ty Simpkins also returns to reprise his role in the next installment, along with Patrick Wilson and Rose Byrne. Apart from Peter Dager, Sinclair Daniels and Hiam Abbass have also joins upcoming horror flick.
Halloween Kills’ Scott Teems has wrote the script, which is based on a true story by Leigh Whannell. Leigh Whannell co-creator the horror franchise Insidious with James Wan. They both will produce the project with Oren Peli. Jason Blum is also producing the pic with his Blumhouse banner. Ryan Turek, Steven Schneider and Brian Kavanaugh Jones are serving as executive producers.
According to Deadline, The story of the latest installment is set ten years after the events of Insidious 2 where Patrick Wilson’s Josh Labert heads east to drop his son Ty Simpkins’ Dalton off at an idyllic, ivy-covered university. Dalton’s college dream turns into a nightmare when repressed demons from his past suddenly return to haunt them both.
The first of the franchise started under the leadership of James Wan came in 2011, Insidious, which emerged as a big blockbuster. The film grossed $97 million worldwide at the box office from a budget of only 1.5 million. Insidious franchise’ 4 released films have grossed around $540 million at the box office, although their budget is only 26 million. Franchise’s previous film Insidious: The Last Key was released in 2018.
