When I think about wizard films, only one bell rings in my mind, the Harry Potter film series. Because Harry Potter is still the most favorite franchise for the last two decades from little to big. The craze of the audience towards the franchise is made even today. In such a context, Author J. K. Rowling announced the Fantastic Beast series about her wizarding world. The first installment of the series Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them was released in 2016. The film became a huge hit at the box office. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them grossed $814 million worldwide. But problems with the franchise began to appear with the second installment, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald. Cause, forcibly linking the franchise to the Harry Potter series.

Although everyone knows that the Fantastic Beast series is a prequel to Harry Potter and its forcibly linked with the original franchise, fans do not like it. Since then, the new franchise of Wizard World has become a canker for fans.

However, at the time of confirmation of Warner Bros. ‘Fantastic Beasts 3’, it was clarified by the makers that the third one would be made in the future only with the franchise in mind. Even though the new Fantastic Beast Books series is excellent, it should definitely have been the focus of the makers. Well what has passed has passed.

So does Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore, which was released several times delayed due to Covid-19, repeat its earlier mistake? Let’s talk about it.

Plot

Directed by original director David Yates, who has also previously directed the last 4 film of the Harry Potter series. Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore stars Eddie Redmayne, Jude Law, Katherine Waterston, Ezra Miller, Dan Fogler, Callum Turner, Alison Sudol and Johnny Depp’s replacement Mads Mikkelsen.

The story begins with Jude Law’s Albus Dumbledore sitting in a restaurant. Just then his friend Mads Mikkelsen’s Gellert Grindelwald, naturally has no good intentions. Because he wants to kill all humans or Muggle, but Dumbledore is against it. Due to this, the paths of both were separated. Then we get to see the next scene of Eddie Redmayne’s Newt, a specialist in magical creatures. He comes across a magical creature called Qilin, who happens to be a female. Then that female gives birth to a Qilin child. Then, Credence of Ezra Miller reaches there with his companions.

Credence attacks and kills the Qilin beast with his companions, then tries to capture the Qilin’s child. Meanwhile, Newt tries to run away with the newborn Qilin, when Credence attacks him and Newt falls into the river. Credence picks up that child from there. But when Newt goes back to the same place, he learns that the female Qilin had twins. Meanwhile, Newt faints after holding the child as he was terribly tired after falling into the river. After that, a magical bird comes out from Newt’s bag and grows up picking up Qilin’s child and Newt and flies away.

In the next scene, we see that Credence takes that Qilin’s child to Grindelwald. Although, Grindelwald had sent him there. Grindelwald kills Qilin’s child, as the beast appears to be some semblance of the future. Then we see Newt accompanying his brother Callum Turner’s Theseus to visit Dumbledore. This is where Dumbledore convinces Theseus to fight with Grindelwald.

After all, why can’t Dumbledore fight Grindelwald directly even after being a powerful wizard? What did Grindelwald see in the future? What’s next is the story, watch in theatres.

Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore Review

There’s definitely a lot of flaws in Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore. There’s definitely a lot of flaws in Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore. The new installment lacks magic compared to the Harry Potter series. Also the screenplay is slow due to which we are unable to make our interest in the film. Although it seems also boring. After Johnny Depp : Forced to Exit Fantastic Beast Film Franchise, Mads Mikkelsen’s Grindelwald manages to make an impact.

If you say that the new installment has put salt on the wounds like Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, then it will not be wrong. Except for the first instalment, so far this new wizard world has been a disappointment. Plus it doesn’t get anywhere near the Harry Potter series. I salute those people who have survived this terrible torture.

Only one positive has come out from the third installment, that is Mads Mikkelsen’s Grindelwald is very impressive. If the makers want to make the Fantastic series like Harry Potter, then they should think. Learn from old mistakes and start afresh.

Is Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore Worth Watching?

If we go by as a franchise, then Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore is a complete failure. If we go to watch a single film thinking, then it can entertain you to some extent.
