Sophie Turner may play Lara Croft in Amazon’s upcoming series, ‘Tomb Raider‘.
There is a buzz in Hollywood that Game of Thrones fame Sophie Turner may play the lead role as Lara Croft in Amazon’s upcoming series, Tomb Raider. Talks are going on with the British actress for the role.
Apart from Sophie Turner, It is also worth noting that in the month of October last year, several actresses were tested for the famous video game adaptation series, including, Mackenzie Davis from ‘Blade Runner 2049’, Emma Mackey from Netflix’s Sex Education and Lucy Boynton from Bohemian Rhapsody.
If Sophie Turner joins Amazon’s Tomb Raider, it will be the biggest project for the actress after HBO’s Game of Thrones and will boost her career.
Phoebe Waller-Bridge from Harrison Ford Starrer ‘Indiana Jones 5’ is serving as writer and executive producer for Amazon and MGM Studios. Phoebe Waller-Bridge is excited for the upcoming project, saying when the series was announced in May, “If I could tell my teenage self this was happening, I think she’d explode. Tomb Raider has been a huge part of my life and I feel incredibly privileged to be bringing it to television with such passionate collaborators. Lara Croft means a lot to me, as she does to many, and I can’t wait to go on this adventure. Bats and all.”
Wells Street Productions’s Jenny Robbins is also serving as executive producer the upcoming live- action series with dj2 Entertainment’s Dimitri M. Johnson and Michael Scheel from Legendary Television. From Star Party Entertainment’s Ryan Andolina and Amanda Greenblatt will serve as producers.
It will be interesting to see how Amazon will do justice to the upcoming series as most of the video game adaptations that have come out before have failed to leave a mark on the hearts of the audience, be it the film starring Angelina Jolie or Alicia Vikander.
Sophie Turner recently seen in British crime drama miniseries Joan. She will next seen in another Amazon’s series, Haven.
