Souheila Yacoub Joins WB & Legendary’s ‘Dune: Part 2’

Swiss actress, Souheila Yacoub joins Warner Bros and Legendary’s sci-fi adventure, Dune: Part 2 after Léa Seydoux.

Warner Bros. and Legendary’s sci-fi adventure Dune: Part 2 is getting bigger by the day. In this context, The Salt of Tears actress Souheila Yacoub is attached to play Shishakli in Denis Villeneuve’s Dune Part II. Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, Josh Brolin, Dave Bautista and Javier Bardem are returning to to reprise their respective role from 2021’s original flick, Dune. Apart from Léa Seydoux, Florence Pugh, Christopher Walken and Austin Butler are the stars who join the franchise for the first time in sequel.

Denis Villeneuve is also returning to produce and direct the much awaited sequel. Jon Spaihts also returned as co-writer from the original film with Denis Villeneuve. Apart from Denis Villeneuve, Mary Parent, Cale Boyter, Tanya Lapointe and Patrick McCormick are also serving as producers. Josh Grode, Herbert W. Gains, Brian Herbert, Kim Herbert, Byron Merritt, and Jon Spaihts are serving as executive producers with Thomas Tull, Richard P. Rubinstein and John Harrison.

What will be the story of Dune: Part 2 is not yet known. Film’s will begin shooting next week in Budapest, Hungary.

The original flick Dune was a resounding hit for Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures. The film that made at a cost of $165 million, did a whopping $402 million business at the box office amid the Covid-19 crisis. Although Dune was released in theaters as well as on the streaming platform HBO Max, the figures differ. Dune received 10 nominations in different categories including Best Picture at the 94th Academy Awards, out of which the film was successful in winning 6 awards.

Souheila Yacoub is also known for the French drama mini-series, Savages directed by Rebecca Zlotowski. Also the actress is best known for playing the lead role in Hulu’s epic war drama series, No Man’s Land. Surely, Warner Bros and Legendary Pictures’ Dune: Part II will give a boost to the actress’ career.
