Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse film Sequel is in development at Sony Pictures. The sequel for Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse animated film is forwarding with directors, Joaquin Dos Santos, Kemp Powers and Justin K. Thompson at Sony Pictures Studio, as per Variety.

Sequel will be produced by Phil Lord, Chris Miller, Amy Pascal, Avi Arad and Christina Steinberg. Alonzo Ruvalcaba will be co-producer for Sony Pictures Studio’s next animated project. However, Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse film’s sequel title not revealed yet. Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse film sequel will be written by Phil Lord, Chris Miller and David Callaham.

Though, the first part was blockbuster at box office. The film grossed $ 375 million from a budget of 90 million. The 2018 film, Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse was directed by Peter Ramsey, Bob Persichetti, and Rodney Rothman. The film has won 8 awards including one Academy Award for Best Animated Feature, BAFTA Award for Best Animated Film and Golden Globe Award for Best Animated Feature Film category. Peter Ramsey, director of first part will serve as executive producer with Aditya Sood.

Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse Sequel Release Date
Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse film will be theatrical release. The film is set to hit theaters next year on October 7, 2022.
Joaquin Dos Santos began his film career 20 years ago with Sony Pictures by making Roughneck: The Starship Troopers Chronicles and Men in Black: The Series. Kemp Powers was the co-director and writer of Disney/ Pixar’s Best Animated Feature nominee. Soul. Kemp Powers also wrote the screenplay of the recently released, One Night in Miami, which was released on December 25, 2020. Justin K. Thompson was recently served as the production designer for 2018’s Spider-Man: Into The Verse. Previously, Thompson has designed Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs and its sequel for Sony Pictures.
