The trailer for Ridley Scott’s epic historical drama The Last Duel has been dropped. This epic has been sung by the Academy Award winning actors, like Matt Damon, Jodie Comer, Ben Affleck and Adam Driver.
The upcoming historical drama is based on book by Eric Jager, The Last Duel: A True Story of Trail by Combat in Medieval France. Nicole Holofcener, Matt Damon, and Ben Affleck has wrote the script. Damon and Affleck are reunites after Oscar winner Good Will Hunting to write the script. In addition to directing The Last Duel, Ridley Scott is also producing the film for his Scott Free Productions with Kevin Walsh. Matt Damon and Ben Affleck are also producing the film with their Pearl Street Films.
The Last Duel Film’s Plot
The story of Ridley Scott’s historical period drama film The Last Duel is set in the backdrop of France in the 14th century. The story of the film will focus on three main characters. These characters are Matt Damon’s Jean de Carrouges, Adam Driver’s Jacques Le Gris and Jodie Comer’s Marguerite de Carrouges. Though, Ben Affleck is playing supporting role as King Charles VI.
According to the story of the film, Jacques sexually assaults the Maruerite wife of Jean de Carrouges. When this matter reaches King Charles, he announces that the dispute will be resolved through a duel of death. Under which the one who survives in the last will be declared as the winner, considering it a sign of God’s will. And if Jean de Carrouges loses, his wife Marguerite’s claims are false and will be burned alive as punishment.

Release Date
20th Century Studios and Ridley Scott’s The Last Duel is set to release in theaters on October 15, 2021.
In addition to The Last Duel, Ridley Scott is directing two other big projects, ‘House of Gucci’ Film For MGM and ‘Kitbag’. ‘House of Gucci’ featuring stars Lady Gaga, Adam Driver, Jared Leto , Al Pacino, Camille Cottin, Salma Hayek and Jeremy Irons.
‘Kitbag’ Ridley Scott’s Napoleon Movie featuring stars Joaquin Phoenix and Jodie Comer.
Both film’s release known yet. House of Gucci is expected to release in 2022 and Kitbag is set for 2023.
