Disney has announced the release date of its live action film, “The Little Mermaid”. The upcoming live action feature is all set to premiere on Memorial Day, 2023.
Disney’s The Little Mermaid will officially hit theaters over Memorial Day weekend in 2023. The upcoming live action feature is directed by Rob Marshall, who previously directed Johnny Depp starrer Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides for Disney. However, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Alan Menken and Howard Ashman are serving as music director and song writer. Lin-Manuel Miranda has produced the film with Rob Marshell, Marc Platt and John DeLuca. Oscar nominee David Magee ( Finding Neverland ) has written the script for the film.

‘The Little Mermaid’ film follows a story of a mermaid princess, who named Ariel, who dreams of becoming human. Later she falls in love with a human prince named Price Eric , who takes her to a magical deal with the sea witch, Ursula. Is, to become human and to be with him.
The production work of the film was completed in the month of July after several delays due Covid-19, which start in the month of January. The Little Mermaid is an adaptation of the 1989′ animated classic film with same name.

Grown-ish series star Halle Bailey is playing titular role as Mermaid Ariel. While Melissa McCarthy is playing as evil sea witch Ursula, who is half-woman and half-octopus, and Jonah Hauer-King is playing as Prince Eric as well as Javier Bardem is playing Ariel father as King Triton. Talking about the other artists, the character of Flounder will be voiced by Jacob Tremblay, Sebastian will be voiced by Daveed Diggs and as well as Scuttle will be by Awkwafina ( Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings ).

Apparently Disney’s live-action Emma Stone starrer ’‘Cruella’ was also released this year on Theaters and on Memorial Day on Disney Plus. The film has so far done business of $222.1 million worldwide, with $86 million domestic collections.
