Trailer Discussions
The Matrix Resurrections official trailer is packed with action and chase sequences that make even the blink of an eye. The trailer is mind-blowing, it opens with Keanu Reeves’ Neo alongside Neil Patrick Harris’s therapist. Neo is surrounded by his own memories, it’s not just a dream. Neo who takes the blue pill for his dreams tells his therapist, ‘Am I going crazy’? Therapist replied, ‘We don’t use that word in here’. Even when he meets Carrie-Anne Moss’s Trinity at a coffee shop and then she says, ‘Have we met?’.
Later on, Neo Laurence meets Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, similar to Fishburne’s Morpheus. Joe hands a red pill to Neo and makes him realize his realness. Later on, Neo practices with Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, as he did with Laurence Fishburne’s Morpheus in The Matrix ( 1999 ).
The story of the film looks mind boggling. It is not clear from the trailer whether the story of the film is based on events after The Matrix Revolutions or before The Matrix. The way Yahya Abdul-Mateen II is introduced, the story seems to predate The Matrix. Maybe Yahya Abdul-Mateen II is the younger version of Morpheus. But on the other hand Neo’s memories also show that the story is after the events of The Matrix Revolutions.
Obviously, the first three films of the Matrix series were well received by the audience, due to which their worldwide box office earnings were more than $1 billion. The Matrix Resurrections looks pretty good according to the trailer. On the other hand, Keanu Reeves is going through the best phase of his career. So obviously the expectation from the film is enough.
