Netflix unveiled a new action-packed trailer for the prequel series The Witcher: Blood Origin at its ongoing CCXP event in Brazil.
Fans were understandably disappointed after Henry Cavill‘s exit as Geralt of Rivia in the Netflix fantasy series. But the new trailer for the prequel The Witcher: Blood Origin not only removes some of this disappointment but also takes the curiosity to its peak. The latest trailer ensures that viewers will get to see everything that Netflix’s prequel series is known for, be it adventure, thrill, magic, terrifying creatures or high-octane action.
Set 1,200 years before the original series, prequel will depict the events leading up to the creation of the first Witcher as well as the “Combination of the Realms”. It will also explore the ancient elven civilization before its demise, all of which the latest trailer throws light on. In this context the trailer gives a glimpse at the seven main protagonists of the story who are all outcasts and strangers to each other. They must come together to fight an Lenny Henry’s Chief David Balor’ ‘unstoppable empire’.
The trailer also showcases how Michelle Yeoh as Scian, Sophia Brown’s Eile and Laurence O’Fuarain’s Fjall show off their fighting skills together to expose the brutality of the Empire to the public and give them courage.
Also, fans’ excitement reaches its peak when the final moments of the trailer see Jaskier, one of the main character from original series, Joey Batey. Meanwhile, Minnie Driver’s Seanchai, who serves as the narrator of the series, says that, “You’re a bard. I’m a storyteller. I need you to sing a story back to life”. Further, Jaskier responds and said that, “Are you sure you’ve got the right man for this?”
How Joey Batey’s Jaskier Exists In Prequel?
Arguably the most surprising character in the latest trailer for Blood Origin is Joey Batey’s Jaskier, who returns from the series’ original timeline. Now the question arises, how did Jaskier appear in The Witcher: Blood Origin when the prequel is set 1200 years before the events of the original series?
Not much is known about Jaskier’s return in the prequels, and his age seems to be between two and three decades old. But it appears he’s an immortal character in Netflix’s epic saga, The Witcher.
The Witcher: Blood Origin series stars Mirren Mack, Nathaniel Curtis, Dylan Moran, Jacob Collins-Levy, Huw Novelli, Francesca Mills, Zach Wyatt, in addition to Michelle Yeoh, Sophia Brown, Laurence O’Fuarain Joey Batey, Lenny Henry and Minnie Driver Lizzie Annis and Amy Murray also appear.
