There Will Be No DC FanDome Virtual Event This Year

This year Warner Bros. will not be returning for the DC FanDome virtual event.

DC FanDome virtual online event started by Warner Bros nearly two years ago will not return in 2022 for its third edition. Apparently the studio started the event to discuss upcoming movies and TV shows and drop their trailers. DC FanDome event, which started in the midst of the Covid-19 crisis, received a tremendous response from all over the world. The last event was watched by a whopping 66 million viewers from all over the world.

Not returning for the third edition after two consecutive years of great response exposes the studio’s lack of preparation for the future. Obviously the list of DC’s upcoming projects at present is a handful. So, Warner Bros. had the perfect opportunity in the form of a DC FanDome event to announce the upcoming new project that it is now missing. The cancellation of the virtual online event this year also calls into question the statement by David Zaslav, CEO of Warner Bros. Discovery, that from now on only big event movies like Marvel will be made in the DC Universe.

In contrast, on the cancellation of the DC FanDome virtual event in 2022, a DC representative says that, “With the return of in-person events, Warner Bros. Discovery is excited to be able to engage with our fans live at numerous comic-cons around the world and will not be scheduling DC FanDome for this year.”

At present, Warner Bros is not sure about its projects. Clearly the studio has made some shocking decisions over the past few years, including canceling Leslie Grace’s Batgirl as well as canceling Supergirl and Wonder Twins. And last week the cancellation of HBO Max’s most high-profile animated series Batman: Caped Crusader threw another big bombshell.

On the other hand, Ezra Miller has been a constant headache for the studio. Sometimes the ‘The Flash’ Star Ezra Miller Arrested For Assault In Hawaii. and sometimes charged with Burglary and felony. Most recently, the studio has pushed the releases of Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom and Shazam! Fury Of The Gods. So it may be that Warner Bros currently doesn’t have much material for DC Fandome to share among fans, which is why they are not returning the event for 2022.
