Disney is going to make a live-action film of the 1997's animated, Hercules.

Disney's live-action Hercules will be directed by Guy Ritchie.

Guy Ritchie recently wrapped up shooting for Amazon's untitled action thriller. Jake Gyllenhaal is playing lead role in Guy Ritchie next feature.

Guy Ritchie has previously directed the 2019 musical fantasy Aladdin for Disney.

In addition to Disney, the Hercules live-action film will be produced by the Russo brothers under their AGBO productions banner.

Clearly, animated adaptaion's live-action are doing extremely well at the box office for Disney. 

Apparently Disney's previous release of the live-action Aladdin was a blockbuster. Will Smith and Naomi Scott starrer grossed $1.05 billion worldwide.

And before that, Disney's live-action animated adaptation of 2017's Beauty and the Beast also emerged as a blockbuster at the box office.

Made on a budget of $160 million, Emma Watson and Dan Stevens starrer, Beauty and the Beast earned $1.26 billion at the box office.

On the one hand another animated adaptation, Disney's mega-budget live-action musical fantasy The Little Mermaid is also vying to hit the box office.

Disney's live-action, The Little Mermaid is schedule to release in theatres on May 26, 2023. Halle Bailey is playing lead role in Disney's animated adaptation.
