After the disappointment of Thor: Love and Thunder, Marvel makes a strong comeback with She-Hulk TV series.
Marvel Studios is definitely satisfied with the overwhelming response to the recently released TV series She-Hulk on Disney+. Tatiana Maslany and Mark Ruffalo starrer series has made a grand debut on the streaming platform Disney+ which is full of humor and adventure. If CGI is left out, the series does wonders in every department, be it storytelling, or character development. The series shows how Jennifer Walters eventually turns into the Green Monster, while slightly tweaking the storyline of the comics books, Like Marvel Studios does every time.
In such a situation, when the 9-episode series is doing so well, the question arises as to what will be the future of She-Hulk in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Apparently in Marvel Cinematic Universe Phase 5 & 6 studios have already announced dozens of projects on their release dates during San Diego Comic-Con. During this time Marvel Studios will release two big event films Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars. So, with such a vast universe, will Tatiana Maslany’s She-Hulk be able to make its way into both these projects?
She-Hulk Future in Marvel Cinematic Universe
Recently, during Deadline’s Hero Nation podcast, Jessica Gao, head writer and producer of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, was asked, Will Jennifer Walters appear in Avengers: Secret Wars?
Jessica Gao says, “One of the things that happen in She-Hulk is… there are all these things that are said, some of which are germane to her living in that world and these would be things that are said. But there’s that scene outside the prison where she goes to see Abomination and the report’s like ‘we heard she’s been rejected from the Avengers.“
When Jessica Gao was asked if She-Hulk would be seen in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty? She said that, ““I would be shocked if they didn’t start putting her in the movies, especially the group team-up movies.”
Will There She-Hulk Season 2?
However, only one episode of the She-Hulk series was released, so fans are already anticipating Season 2. It is clear that the overwhelming response to the series also intensifies the speculations for She-Hulk Season 2. When asked about She-Hulk Season 2, Jessica Gao says that, “Coming from television, you can never guarantee that you’re going to get another season with a first season show. So it’s kind of been trained into my head that, on a first-season show, you really have to tell a complete story that you’d be satisfied with if this is only a one-and-done. Just because there’s never a guarantee, you just never know if you’re going to get another season, so you can’t really hold back and just leave things open-ended. You do have to tell some sort of satisfying arc in one season just in case, and then of course you leave the door open for possibilities for a second, third, and fourth season. So that was kind of my mental approach to it.”
Whether She-Hulk will be a part of Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars in the Marvel Cinematic Universe or whether Season 2 will come, it will be known in the near future. Apart from She-Hulk, there are other projects on which Marvel Studios is going to announce something soon. Of course, Oscar Issac’s Moon Knight Season 2, Simu Liu’s Shang Chi 2, Eternals 2 are among other projects the studio may announce during the upcoming D23 Expo event. D23 Expo will start next month on September 9th, 2022 in Anaheim, California. During the event, Marvel Studios will also celebrate the 60th anniversary of Amazing Fantasy.
