XYZ Films’ upcoming sci-fi thriller, ‘Ursa Major’ is forwarding with Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness‘ breakout star Xochitl Gomez and Mary Elizabeth Winstead in lead role.
Marvel’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness star Xochitl Gomez has got a new film in hand. The actress will play the lead role in XYZ Films’ sci-fi thriller, Ursa Major. Also, Warner Bros and DC’s Birds of Prey actress Mary Elizabeth Winstead have also been roped in for lead role. Film will be directed by Baker Brothers, Jonathan and Josh. Script for the upcoming sci-fi thriller is co-written by Emmy nominee, Patrick Somerville, along with Colleen O’Brien and Kate French. Patrick Somerville will also produce the pic David Eisenberg with their Tractor Beam Productions banner. Lost City’s John Finemore, MXN Entertainment’s Mason Novick, Artists First’s Brian Steinberg and Allen Fischer will also produce the pic.
James Hoppe of Lost City and Jack Byrnes will serve as executive producer. XYZ Films will handle the worldwide sales of the upcoming project as well as production company will also introduce it to the buyers at Toronto Film Festival next week.
Ursa Major Plot
Ursa Major will follow mother daughter, Charlie and Natalie. Charlie and Natalie are fighting for survival on an Earth-like planet, hiding from a group of relentless hunters with the added threat of an imminent and deadly storm approaches. Trouble ensues when teenage Natalie begins to question the decisions made by mother Charlie, like how they got here and what do they have to do to survive.
In the film, Mary Elizabeth Winstead will play Charlie as well as Xochitl Gomez will play Natalie.
In addition to Marvel’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Xochitl Gomez is also known for Netflix’s hit comedy drama series, The Baby-Sitters Club.
In addition to Warner Bros and DC’s Birds of Prey, Mary Elizabeth Winstead has also starred in the 2016 sci-fi psychological thriller, 10 Cloverfield Lane. She previously seen in Netflix’s action-thriller, Kate alongside Woody Harrelson.
