Baywatch actor, Zac Efron to star in A24’s drama feature, ‘The Iron Claw‘ and The Nest‘ Sean Durkin will direct.
Recently, Zac Efron joined Netflix’s upcoming romantic comedy ‘Untitled’ film, with Academy Award winner actress, Nicole Kidman and Zoey King also stars. Now, the actor will be seen playing the lead role in A24’s latest drama feature The Iron Claw. A24 will fully finance and produce the film. Tessa Ross, Derrin Schlesinger and Harrison Huffman are also producing A24’s latest drama feature. Sean Durkin of 3 Women is directing the film as well as writing the story of The Iron Claw. House Productions is developing drama feature with Access Entertainment and BBC Films.
The story of Zac Efron’s new drama feature The Iron Claw will follow Kerry Von Erich, an American professional wrestler. The story will highlight the rise and fall of the family of Kerry Von Erich, a lineage of wrestlers who have made a major impact on the sport from the 1960s to the present day.
Zac Efron most recently seen in Universal’s sci-fi thriller, Firestarter, which release in theatres on May 13, 2022. Firestarter is based on Stephen King’s novel with same name directed by Keith Thomas. He will next seen in Apple TV+ war drama, The Greatest Beer Run Ever, based on Joanna Molloy’s book with same name. Dumb and Dumber‘s Peter Farrelly is directing the war drama feature. Apart from Zac Efron, Russell Crowe and Bill Murray also stars.
Director Sean Durkin is also known for the British drama series Southcliffe on Channel 4. Sean Harris ( The Green Knight ) and Rory Kinnear ( No Time To Die )play the lead roles in the 4-episode series Southcliffe. Also, Sean Durkin won the Dramatic Directing Award at the Sundance Film Festival for the 2011 thriller feature Martha Marcy May Marlene.
