57-years-old comedian-actor, Chris Rock will not host the 2023 Academy Awards event.

Will Smith is the big reason why Chris Rock isn't hosting the Academy Awards 2023.

During a Sunday night show at the Arizona Financial Theatre, Chris Rock taunted that Will Smith is bigger than me,

Chris Rock added that, " The state of Nevada would not sanction a fight between me and Will Smith",

Apparently, in March, Will Smith made headlines during the Academy Awards 2022 by slapping Chris Rock on stage.

Apparently, during the event, Chris Rock made fun of Jada Pinkett Smith, which angered Will Smith and slapped the comedian.

In early April, The Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences banned Will Smith for 10 years for attending the Oscars due to the infamous slap.

Later, Will Smith's career came under threat due to the Oscar slap when major studios and filmmakers pulled back from the actor.

In this context, Will Smith's sci-fi Emancipation directed by Antoine Fuqua has been delayed to 2023 on Apple+.

Then in July, Will Smith apologized to Chris Rock by posting a video on Instagram to save his sinking career.

Later, Chris Rock responded to Will Smith's apology video, saying that, "Anyone who says words hurt has never been punched in the face".

Then, daughter Willow Smith was seen defending father Will Smith on the Oscar slap incident.

The Academy of Motion Pictures Arts declined to comment on Chris Rock's decision not to host the Oscars 2023.

Before 2022, Chris Rock hosted the Academy Awards in 2005 and 2016.

Chris Rock will now appear in period mystery comedy. Amsterdam, directed by David O. Russell. The film will be released in theaters on October 7, 2022.

Amsterdam will star Christian Bale, Margot Robbie, Robert De Niro opposite Chris Rock. This will be Taylor Swift's debut film.
