Anne Hathaway will star in ‘The Idea of You’ based on Robinne Lee’s novel for Amazon.
Amazon is going to film adaptation of Robinne Lee’s novel ‘The Idea of You’, which was published in June, 2017. In this context, The Princess Diaries actress Anne Hathaway has been signed in the lead role. Amazon has roped in Michael Showalter to direct ‘The Idea of You’. Michael Showalter best known for 2017’s romantic comedy, The Big Sick. Showalter’s previous film The Eyes of Tammy Faye won two Oscars at the 94th Academy Awards edition.
Plot
The story of Amazon’s The Idea Of You will focus on Sophie, a 40-year-old divorced mother. During a Coachella trip, Sophie’s husband Dan left her with their 15-year-old daughter for an younger woman. Sophie picks up the pieces while facing the crowds and the heat of the desert and she meets 24-year-old Hayes Campbell, the lead singer of a band.
Cathy Schulman will produce The Idea of You under her banner Welle Entertainment. Gabrielle Union and Kian Gass will also produce the film. Anne Hathaway will also produce the film with her banner Somewhere Pictures. Jennifer Westfeldt has written the script for the film and will also serve as an executive producer. Production for the film will start in the coming month of October.
Anne Hathaway previously seen in HBO Max’s pandemic heist movie, Locked Down. Chiwetel Ejiofor was star opposite her. Though, she also appeared in lead role alongside Jared Leto in Apple+ mini TV series, WeCrashed. She will next seen in Universal‘s period drama, Armageddon Time, directed by James Gray. Anthony Hopkins and Jeremy Strong are also stars in the film. Later, she will next seen alongside Jessica Chastain in Neon’s psychological thriller, Mothers’ Instinct.
The Idea Of You Release Date
Amazon has not yet announced the release date of the film. The Idea Of You will premiere on Prime Video.
