Lena Headey and Nick Frost to star in comedy-thriller ‘Svalta‘ and Steffen Haars and Flip van der Kuil will direct.
Game of Thrones fame actress Lena Headey and Hot Fuzz actor Nick Frost will play the leads in XYZ Films’ upcoming comedy thriller, Svalta. Nick and Headey are reuniting after the 2018 comedy drama, Fighting with My Family. Steffen Haars and Flip van der Kuil will direct, while Nick Frost has penned the script. Wayward Entertainment, Film Service Finland, Resolute Films, XYZ Films are producing the film with Nick Frost. XYZ Films will also handle world sales in international market.
According to Deadline, “Svalta will follow a family on their summer vacation to a remote island with a dark past. There, they discover that a serial killer is on the loose and that unfortunately for them, the hostile locals have no interest in helping them.”
Production for the film will begin early next year.
British actor Nick Frost best known for Fighting with My Family as well as 2004 zombie comedy feature Shaun of the Dead. This was the first film of his career in which he was accompanied by Simon Pegg ( ‘The Boys ) played the lead role. He previously seen in animated comedy, Monster Family 2, where actor voiced character, Frank Wishbone. He also plays the lead role in HBO’ sci-fi series The Nevers.
Lena Headey, on the other hand, is best known for Zack Snyder’s historical period film, 300, in addition to the Game of Thrones series. She previously seen in Warner Bros’ animated feature, DC League of Super-Pets, where actress voiced the character of Superman’s mother, Lara. She will next seen in HBO’s political drama series, The White House Plumbers. Woody Harrelson will star opposite Headey in the series. The White House Plumbers series is expected to release on HBO by mid-2023.
