Actress Lucy Liu Joins Dc’s ‘Shazam: Fury of the Gods’ as Villain, Kalypso

Charlie’s Angels fame, Hollywood actress Lucy Liu joins DC’s upcoming film, Shazam: Fury of the Gods. She is all set to play as the villain Kalypso. She will playing the character of Helen Mirren’s sister. Helen Mirren To Play Villain Hespera in DC’s Upcoming Film ‘Shazam: Fury Of The Gods’, whose casting was confirmed a few days ago.

According to the DC Comics books, Hespera and Kalypso are the daughters of the Greek god Atlas, one of the sources of Shazam’s powers, the stamina of Atlas. Shazam’s other powers are, power of Zeus, strength of Hercules, wisdom of Solomon, the speed of Mercury and the courage of Achilles.

Shazam: Fury of the Gods is sequel to 2019’s DC super-hit film, Shazam!. The 2019’s Shazam film was a box office hit. The film grossed about $367 million at the box office with a budget of 100 million. The film was directed by David F. Sandberg, who is returning for a sequel too.

Shazam: Fury of the Gods Release Date

Shazam: Fury of the Gods will hit theaters on June 2, 2023. Henry is writing screenplays for DC’s upcoming superhero film. Peter Safran is producing the film with his Safran Company. Zachary Levi is play titled character from first part as, Shazam. Asher Angel is also returning to reprise his role as teenager as Billy Batson, who turned into Shazam by saying the Wizard’s name, Shazam.

In addition to Charlie’s Angels, Lucy Liu is also known for films such as Quentin Tarantino‘s Kill Bill, Elementary and Why Women Kill. Lucy Liu also voiced the Viper character from the DreamWorks animation film, Kung Fu Panda. She has also starred in a Netflix romantic comedy film, Set It Up. Lucy Liu has won two Screen Actors Guild Awards, one Critic’s Choice Awards and one Seoul International Drama Award.
