The evening of the 70th anniversary of the Miss USA pageant was named after Elle Smith. Elle Smith of University of Kentucky named as Miss USA 2021 winner. Smith beats Miss North Dakota Caitlyn Vogel for the crown.
Elle Smith, 23 years old, WHAS-TV journalist by profession, has won the title of Miss USA 2021. Smith holds a Bachelor of Broadcast Journalism from the University of Kentucky.
This event took place on Monday night at River Spirit Casino Resort in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where Jury Hall hosted the event with Patrick Ta. Alton Mason, Chloe Flower, Haley Kalil, Natalia Barulich, Oliver Trevena, Sophie Elgort and Ty Hunter served on the judging panel. Ja Rule also gave stage performances. Apparently this pageant was broadcast by the FYI channel of A&E Network. Elle Smith was crowned by Asya Branch, the winner of Miss USA 2020.
Smith competed with close to 50 other contestants for the crown, with Miss Alabama USA Alexandria Flanigan and Miss Nevada Kataluna Enriquez. However Alexandria Flanigan could not make it to the semi-finals in the top 16. That’s why the model could not participate in televised swimsuit, evening gown and question-and-answer competitions.
On the other hand, Catalunya Enriquez of Nevada made history as the first openly transgender woman to participate in the competition.
Following Smith’s win, the Miss USA website issued a statement saying, “For the duration of her reign, Elle engaged in red carpet experiences, networking opportunities, professional photo shoots, speaking engagements, and more. She will also have the opportunity to promote her personal platform, as well as the charitable alliances of the USA organization”.
After winning the Miss USA 2021 crown, Elle will compete in the pageant of Eilat of Israel for Miss Universe 2021. This event will happen on December 12, 2021.
