‘Sesame Street’ Actor Emilio Delgado Dies at 81

Sesame Street‘ actor Emilio Delgado, who played Luis Rodriguez continuously for 40 years, has died of cancer at the age of 81.

A star of the most successful show in TV history with 52 season, is going on for the last 50 years, has left us. Today is a time of great sadness for the TV world, Emilio Delgado of Sesame Street passed away on Thursday night after a long battle with blood cancer in New York. The news of the actor’s death was confirmed by his wife, Carole Delgado, in a statement to the Associated Press.

Apparently, Emilio Sesame was associated with the Street TV show in 1971 as Luis Rodriguez. He worked in the show till 2016, although he wanted to do more work but his contract was not extended. He was very much liked as Louis from children to elders, on seeing him, a smile came on everyone’s face.

In the context of Emilio’s death, A3 Artists Agency CEO Robert Attermann states that, “Delgado was an immense talent who brought so much joy and smiles to his fans. He will be missed by many and we know his legacy will live on.”, as per The Hollywood Reporter.

The actor was born on May 8, 1940 in Calexico, California. Although his childhood was spent in Mexicali, Mexico. To build his career, he came back to America in the early 70’s, where he had to struggle a lot to find work initially. Later, he joins Sesame Street show cast. Later, The actor has made a unique record of playing a role continuously for 40 years.

Emilio Delgado leaves behind two children and a wife. We pray for his family that God gives them the strength to handle themselves in this difficult time.
