The future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe will now be decided by Disney’s upcoming TV series.
Marvel Studios started Phase 4 last year with WandaVision. In this context, the studio gave TV series like The Falcon and The Winter Soldier , Loki, What If…?, and at the end of the year ‘Hawkeye’ to its fans on its streaming platform Disney Plus. All the TV series brought a new experience for the viewers. Also, the studio released its 4 films in 2021, in which ‘Eternals’ , Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings and ‘Black Widow’ did a completely new test for the audience, while there was a ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ sequel to the franchise.
Disney Plus TV series is future of MCU
But now, Disney Plus’ upcoming tv series is the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, at least the release slate till 2023 says the same thing. Because upcoming movies like ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, and The Marvels are all sequels. But the viewers will get to see the new content only in the TV series, which will play a big role in the MCU in the future.
In this context, Marvel will now release TV series like ‘Moon Knight’, She Hulk, ‘Ms. Marvel’, Secret Invasion, Ironheart, Armor Wars, I Am Groot and The Kingdom of Wakanda on Disney Plus which will give a new experience to the viewers.
Marvel is a smart studio, it knows very well what the audience wants. That’s why studios are taking more interest in TV series because the risk of damage is very less here. Also TV series is a perfect platform for character development for your feature film. Introducing a new character directly in the film can prove to be risky. Obviously, what can happen to a film without proper character development, Warner Bros’ Justice League is the perfect example. In such a situation, Marvel does not want to leave any stone unturned regarding its project. With this the studio will also be able to attract a lot of users for its streaming platform Disney Plus.
